Human beings in different periods of time, from and in different worlds and cultures, in guises of allegory and antiquity, perceived as in dreams and in trance; humans in motion and yet in tranquillity, full of dignity and quiet contemplation as they harbour the wisdom of the world even in despair; with playful ease Caryatides as if in passing bear the heavy burden of tradition and responsibility; even if constrained by trivial pursuits humanity can master dignity and humour and sadness need not turn into pathos. |
